Poker, eh?

It can change your life top to bottom or not interest you whatsoever. For me personally it was obviously the former, why else would I be here?

From playing some 5-card Draw with my little brother, not knowing what we were doing and drawing endlessly until either of us had a hand, over learning Texas Hold’em with friends at a kitchen table in Brooklyn, New York to working for PokerStars for 11 years, poker has REALLY changed my life!

Today I am just starting out as a location-independent freelance Creative Solver and Content Creator. As I have just left PokerStars, and so full-time employment, end of April, the world is my even bigger scary oyster.

From June I am allowed to play online on PokerStars again and I can’t wait. It has been 9 years since I last played there for real money. But obviously the re-introduction will be short as I will then travel to the States on 17th June for the WSOP, and there will be no online poker.

The first time I was in Las Vegas was in 2008 and I promised myself back then that if I would never be able to ever play the World Series of Poker Main Event, it will have to be the 50th!

This year is the 50th!

I have the amazing opportunity to play in the Poker League Of Nations freeroll on 22nd June for a seat. Just 39 women to get past…

That will be my shot number two though as until I travel to the States I will grind the 888 satellites.

And if these two shots fail I will try mobilise the whole poker world that I have made my family over the last 11 years and try sell enough shares to get into the most prestigious poker tournament in the world!

I REALLY want to play this tournament this year!

And while I am at self-promoting… I also wrote a book about my first Vegas experiences and how I got into the poker industry. It’s called StripNit and you find it on Amazon. 🙂

I am looking forward to battling it out on the 22nd and then hopefully afterwards in the Main Event, but how much poker will be actually possible for me, is not clear yet, as building your own business is no walk in the park.
